The inspiration behind the design...
"A few winters back I was quahogging - which is using a metal rake to dig up small clams from under the water - with my partner and his son in the Westport River. I was in a hurry to pick up my son from school, overconfident I knew the way through the weaving salt marsh channel. Racing along I grounded the boat on a sandbar in a rapidly outgoing tide. It took us well into the night to free it. Despite the wind making communication nearly impossible, motor malfunctions and heavy rain, no one was very upset about the situation. We were all wearing dry suits so that helped a bit. Most of all it was our shared perspective of viewing challenges as fun, something to conquer and learn from. So I learned how to navigate the river at light using the lights from the houses on shore and that's what inspired me to make this dark cuff with the little sparking lights, a reminder that the filter that you choose to see life though is everything.
