Winza Sapphires
Considered quite rare, these gemstones have been mined by hand since 2007 in eluvial and primary deposits in Winza, which is a mining location in Mpwapwa District, Dodoma Region, Tanzania, Africa.
Winza sapphires are highly sought after and unique. Characterized by bluish-violet color zoning found only in this locality. They also display ruby and sapphire characteristics in the same stone. Ranging from soft pinks to deep reds with the raspberry toned being the most coveted.
